About the Author

Jad Adams is a writer and television producer. He is the author of Gandhi: Naked Ambition and Women and the Vote: A World History. He has written biographies of Tony Benn, Emmeline Pankhurst and Rudyard Kipling. He worked on the television series The Dynasty: The NehruGandhi Story and wrote the book which accompanied it. He is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and a Research Fellow at the Institute of English, School of Advanced Study, University of London.
