About the Author
A Civil Judge in Kerala, A. M. Basheer is the author of Uruppa, a Malayalam novel first published in 2007. His short stories, published in various popular Malayalam periodicals and later as a collection, Oru Porali Janikkunnu, in 1992, won him several prizes. His plays were broadcast by radio stations in Thrissur, Kozhikode and Trivandrum. Riot Widows is his debut novel in English.
